West Rowan Middle School is in code yellow lockdown today under the advisement of law enforcement, said Rowan-Salisbury School System Spokeswoman Rita Foil.
According to an email from Foil, law enforcement was called to West Rowan Middle regarding a family member that came on the school campus exhibiting inappropriate behavior.
Code Yellow means that:
• All doors to the school building are locked and secured.
• Students do not leave the building and there are no outside activities.
• Class continues as usual.
• Parents can enter, but doors remain locked after they enter or leave the building.
School Principal Nancy Barkemeyer sent a Connect-ED message to parents this morning.
Foil said the staff will continue to work closely with law enforcement.
