Children’s Sabbath at First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury hosts a day of worship and mission on Sunday, Jan. 27, beginning with a Service of Wholeness and Healing at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. Childcare will be available at 8:45 a.m.
At 10 a.m. is Sunday school for all ages. At 11 a.m., Children’s Sabbath will be observed during the worship service, which will include music presented by 1st Kids.
At noon, immediately following the one worship service of the day, TWAM (Teens With A Mission) will host a lunch for the entire congregation in Lewis Hall. The lunch will include fried chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, salad, bread and dessert. There is no charge for this meal, but a free-will offering will be collected, going to support the TWAM Costa Rica Mission Trip 2013.
The day concludes at 5 p.m. with a Brazil Mission 2013 organizational meeting. Anyone interested in joining this mission trip may attend. This year volunteers will complete the building of a new health/dental clinic in Rio Verde, Brazil.

Chicken dumpling supper today

Fairview Heights Baptist Church continues the 11th pastoral anniversary celebration of Clarence Marlin and family. The concluding service will be Sunday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Tony Gaskins of Macedonia Baptist Church of Dayton, Ohio, as speaker. At the 3 p.m. service, Rev. David McClendon, pastor of Rock Hill AME Zion Church of Concord, will speak.

Clergy convocation in Concord

Advance care planning workshop
CONCORD — Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County is offering a free living will/healthcare power of attorney workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church.
