KANNAPOLIS — As much as 6,000 gallons of untreated sewage spilled into a small waterway after power failed at a lift station on Thursday, the city said.
The city says there is no evidence of significant environmental damage in Royal Oaks Branch. Inspection and testing will continue until officials confirm that initial assessment.
Power has been restored to the lift station.
State law requires governments to report spills of untreated wastewater.
