SALISBURY — Thieves stole more than $7,000 in tools from a N.C. Department of Transportation office Jan. 11.
An incident report said intruders cut a lock and chain from a fence surrounding the building, which houses supplies used for bridge maintenance.
Everything from tools to twine was stolen, an evidence report showed.
Investigators said tracks were found nearby showing the suspects threw some items over a barbed-wire fence. They also slid items under the fence.
Authorities said most of the items in the Camp Road building were stolen.
The case was assigned to Rowan County investigator Tracy Sloop.
