CHARLESTON, S.C. Ń On a beautiful Fall afternoon, Nov. 10, 2012, with a backdrop of the Cooper River and the Ravenel Bridge, accompanied by bagpipe music, Colleen Patricia Murtaugh and Ford Crisp McDonald Jr. married at the Charleston Maritime Center. Officiant for the ceremony was John Hitt of Wilmington, NC.
Family and friends who blessed the event with their presence were caught up in the magic of the evening.
The bride was escorted by her father, James F. Murtaugh. Jill H. Harrington of Wilmington, NC, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included sisters of the groom Ashley M. Kincaid of Washington, DC, and Emma McDonald of New York, N.Y.; along with Sarah E.P. Drinkard of Athens, OH.
Craig Stachewicz of Leesville, LA, stood as the groomŐs best man. Brother of the bride Corbin M. Murtaugh of Alexandria, VA, was groomsman.
Lila Rose Whitman of Placerville, CA, cousin of the bride, was the hand bell ringer.
The bride is the daughter of James and Patricia Murtaugh of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Ethel H. Massey of Horseheads, N.Y. A graduate of West Rowan High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she is employed by the SC Department of Transportation.
The groom is the son of Ford and Randy McDonald of Shelby, NC, and the grandson of Milton and Peggy Langston of NewBern, NC. A graduate of Shelby High School and UNC-W, Crisp is a small business owner with Coastal Endurance LLC.
The couple are making their home in Charleston, SC.
