SALISBURY — A man on a mo-ped told officers he was pistol-whipped by a group of people near the intersection of South Long Street and Bringle Ferry Road Monday morning.
Salisbury Police said four men approached the man as he waited at a stoplight about 4 a.m.
When the suspects told the man they were taking his scooter, one of the assailants withdrew a black 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and struck him in the side of the head.
The man sped away and was later treated at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
