James David and Nancy Carol Lefler Ludwig of Rockwell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 2, 2012, with a reception at Lyerly Evangelical Church. Hosts were their children and their spouses, Tim and Barbara Ludwig of New Bern and Kathy and John Allen of Ellensburg, Wash. The Ludwigs have five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The couple were married Dec. 6, 1952, at the Organ Lutheran Church parsonage. Mr. Ludwig retired from Food Lion, and Mrs. Ludwig retired from Eckerd Optical.
They plan to take a trip to Seattle, Wash., via Amtrak in the early summer.
