SALISBURY — Salisbury Academy invites the community to a seminar Tuesday that will engage families in healthy habits.
Dr. Christopher Magryta will discuss epigenetics, the study of how the environment affects our genes and how that translates into our health.
Magryta will talk about how food, stress, exercise and environmental chemicals affect families.
“We are excited about bringing a program to the community that promotes healthy habits for the mind and body,” said Head of School Diane Fisher. “We want to promote healthy families and hope the community will take advantage of this free presentation.”
A physician with Salisbury Pediatric Associates since 1999, Magryta has a special interest in pediatric allergies, asthma, autism and immunology.
He has studied integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University Of Arizona School Of Medicine. In addition to general pediatric care, Magryta provides specialized care in prevention and nutrition and combines alternative medicine with traditional medicine.
The free event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Child care will be provided for children ages 3-12 with a reservation. For more information, call 704-636-3002.
