Authorities have called for a helicopter and bloodhound to help search for a 7-year-old girl who went missing several hours ago from her south Salisbury home.
The girl is described as about 3-foot-5 and 50 pounds with blond hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a gray tank top and black slippers, according to emergency radio communications, but a full clothing description isn’t yet available.
The girl’s family lives on Sidney Drive near the Piedmont Correctional Institute off South Main Street. The family had recently moved from the Myrtle Beach area, and the little girl was not happy, according to reports
A neighbor’s security camera shows her leaving her house and crossing the street about 10:15 a.m.
Police have placed a reverse 911 call to residents within a 3-mile radius of the family’s home and have contacted state authorities to issue an Amber alert.
