Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in an early morning armed robbery at a convenience store.
Someone went into Murphy Express, 1010 Freeland Drive, across from Walmart at 12:56 this morning.
The Salisbury Police are looking for a navy blue Chevrolet Cobalt with a green Monster energy drink sticker on the back window. The passenger of the vehicle went inside the store.
The driver waited in the vehicle as a black man between 20 years old and 30 years old, wearing blue jeans, a long gray hoodie sweatshirt and a white baseball cap came into the store.
The hoodie was partially covering the baseball cap. The front of the sweatshirt had Senior 2012 written on the front, reports said.
The man went to the back of the store, picked up a 24-ounce beer and placed it onto the counter. He gave the clerk his identification and placed it back into his wallet.
When the clerk opened the drawer, the man pulled a gun from inside the hoodie pocket, reached across the register and took money from it. He got into the vehicle and left the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
