SALISBURY — Police said a man wearing a Spider-Man mask robbed a Chinese restaurant Monday night near North Arlington Street.
Holding a black handgun, authorities said the robber demanded money from the cashier at China Buffet around 10 p.m.
As the robbery took place, a customer — who was trying to enter the business — saw the gunman, retreated to their vehicle and called 911.
Authorities used a police dog to track the man to a nearby intersection at North Cedar Street and Park Avenue but the trail ended abruptly. No one has been charged.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the restaurant and said the robber appeared to flee toward an apartment complex near North Cedar Street.
Police said the amount stolen was not immediately available this morning.
Investigators are continuing to work the case and could release surveillance images to the public as early as this afternoon.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-633-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
