Humane Society fundraiser is Saturday

The Humane Society of Rowan County will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser this Saturday, Nov. 3, from 5-8 p.m., at VFW Post 3006, 1200 Brenner Ave. Tickets will be available at the door and are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. The meal consists of spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad, garlic bread, dessert and tea, and guests may dine in or carry out their orders. Volunteers will deliver to workplaces in quantities of five dinners or more. Orders for delivery should be called to 704-636-5700, option 9, by 5 p.m. on Saturday. Music will be provided by DJ Melanie Chilson.
A 50-50 raffle will be held as well as a raffle for a mosaic bird bath made and donated by a local craftsman.
Pet food donations for distribution to families in need of assistance with their pets may be brought to the fundraiser.
Corporate sponsors of the dinner are Dairy Queen on U.S. 70, L&M Kustom Karts and Waffle House Restaurant.
The Humane Society of Rowan County is a non-profit, volunteer organization. The HSRC coordinates reduced cost spay/neuter clinics with two local veterinarians, assists pet owners in various ways and attempts to rehabilitate sick or injured stray or abandoned animals. It does not operate a shelter and is not the county’s animal control agency. Foster care providers for HSRC animals are needed. Call 704-636-5700, option 9 or email humanesocietyofrowancounty@windstream.net for information.
