?Whether there is a need in the church or in the community, the women of Circle No. 6 at First United Church of Christ step in to help.
The women’s group meets monthly for fellowship and devotion at the West Horah Street church.
The 16-member group recently donated $50 to the annual Christmas Happiness Fund.
“We talk about things going on in the church and things we want to do,” said member Jacqueline Nolen.
Christmas Happiness is one of the things the women have wanted to do for the last six to eight years.
The group usually has a Christmas project around this time, and the annual fund is one of them. The women also help at Rowan Helping Ministries or provide for a needy family in the church.
The annual fund helps low-income families provide Christmas presents for their children. The program is sponsored by the Salisbury Post, which accepts donations. The Rowan County Department of Social Services distributes vouchers to eligible families.
Bring contributions to the Salisbury Post, 131 W. Innes St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or mail them to The Salisbury Post Christmas Happiness Fund, P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, NC 28145-4639.
Make checks payable to the Christmas Happiness Fund and indicate how you wish your donations to be listed.
