SALISBURY — The city of Salisbury began an internal investigation this morning into the Salisbury Fire Department after receiving allegations of sexual misconduct.
In 2011, sexual misconduct at the Salisbury Fire Department resulted in the firing of three employees and suspension of another.
Upon notification of the new allegations, Zack Kyle, assistant city manager of human resources, began an internal investigation, according to a city press release.
“Allegations of this nature are treated very seriously, and a full investigation will take place in accordance with applicable city policies and procedures,” Kyle said.
The city will release additional information as it becomes available as the investigation proceeds, city spokeswoman Elaney Hasselmann said.
