Historic Salisbury Foundation: a Patrons Party 30 years ago

This Salisbury Post clipping from Oct. 24, 1982, shows some of the people attending a Friday night Patrons Party in conjunction with that year’s OctoberTour, sponsored by Historic Salisbury Foundation. The foundation, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, just completed its 2012 OctoberTour. In this photograph, the women seated are Virginia Wallace and Kate Mills Snider. They served as co-chairwomen of OctoberTour’s Patrons Drive. Jim and Chris Whitton, standing at the left, were hosts for the party. Others pictured are Ed Clement, center, then president of the foundation, and Jean Owen and Jane Gamewell, both of whom served as co-chairwomen of the 1982 OctoberTour.
