SALISBURY – Police arrested a Salisbury mom at a home on Klumac Road Thursday afternoon after authorities said she kept her 9-month-old near a meth lab.
Officers charged 20-year-old Shaina Elizabeth Satterfield. Her boyfriend, Ty Robert Smith, was arrested at their Carolina Boulevard home Tuesday during a search warrant raid.
Inside the home, officers found a crib and toys, along with processed meth and materials used to make it.
Smith and Satterfield were both charged with felony manufacturing meth, felony maintaining a dwelling for storing drugs, felony possession of meth, felony possession of materials to make meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse.
Each remained in jail Friday under $11,000 bonds apiece.
Authorities expected Satterfield to turn herself in Thursday morning, but by 3 p.m. she hadn’t.
About 3:30 p.m., police located her at the Klumac Road address.
The report did not indicate how officers located her.
