Bill and Barbara Lentz Abernethy of Granite Quarry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 7, 2012, at a reception given by family and friends at Rockwell Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, where they were married Oct. 7, 1962, by the Rev. Carlton Simpson.
Bill retired in 2003 after 30 years with Norfolk Southern Railway. Bill and Barbara have co-owned B&B Tax Service since 1975.
They have two sons, Roger Abernethy of Spencer and Randy Abernethy of Granite Quarry; and two granddaughters, April and Kristina Abernethy.
