This week’s Athlete of the Week is Carson running back Brandon Sloop.

Sloop rushed for 245 yards in Carson’s 31-25 win over rival South Rowan. He ran the ball on 11 of the Cougars’ first 12 plays on his way to 37 carries. By halftime, he had 97 yards on 19 carries. He scored on a 79-yard run on his 30th carry of the game. He scored from 6 yards out and also set up a touchdown with a 16-yard run to the 1-yard line.

Sloop’s performance helped Carson break a five-game losing streak.
