If Mitt Romney can gain new political momentum with one debate performance, could a local candidate do the same at a forum?
Find out this week by attending the candidate forums put together by the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, Catawba College and the Salisbury Post.
Here’s the schedule for the forums, which will be held in Tom Smith Auditorium of Ketner Hall on the Catawba College Campus:
• Tuesday – The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education and the Rowan County Board of Commissioners will take center stage. School board candidates will speak 6-7 p.m., followed by commission candidates at 7:15-8 p.m.
• Wednesday – Two congressional races and one legislative race will be the focus. For the 5th congressional district, Virginia Foxx and Elisabeth Motsinger will speak 6-6:45 p.m. In the 77th state House district, Bill Battermann and Harry Warren will speak 7-7:45 p.m. For the 12th congressional district, Jack Brosch and Mel Watt will speak from 8 to 8:45 p.m.
Salisbury Post readers have submitted an interesting array of questions. Moderator Dr. Michael Bitzer will make the final selection of questions to ask. There’s no substitute for being there. Come see it for yourself.
