Wallace Commons expansion on Tuesday agenda

SALISBURY — The city’s Planning Board will consider a proposed expansion of the Wallace Commons shopping center when members meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.
The city has fast-tracked the project, which is going through Salisbury’s new one-stop shop for development.
Less than two weeks ago, the Technical Review Committee recommended approval of the site plan.
If city leaders and Rowan County officials give their blessing, construction could begin as early as December on the proposed 113,000-square-foot expansion at the Kohl’s-anchored shopping center. Plans call for a department store, a second anchor and two other retail spaces.
