Bill T. Shive and Ann Shoe Shive of Salisbury are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, Aug. 12, 2012. A family dinner was held at Ivan’s of Salisbury on Aug. 11. The Shives were married Aug. 12, 1962, at Grace Lutheran Church in Salisbury by the Rev. James E. Walker. They honeymooned in Niagara Falls and plan a return trip in celebration.
Bill retired from the Rowan County School System after 33 years of service, and Ann is a retired cosmetologist.
The couple have three children: Jana (Curt) Thomas, Julie (Joe) Darnell and Bradley (Starr) Shive. They have seven grandchildren: Luke and Lauren Thomas, Collin and Carlie Darnell and Bryson, Braden and Blake Shive.
