Rowan County is part of the Charlotte air quality region, which includes Cabarrus, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Union and southern Iredell counties.
Children, active adults and those with heart or respiratory disease, including asthma, should limit outdoor activity. Open burning is generally banned on Air Quality Action Days.
