Denny Key has resigned as North Iredell’s baseball coach to take the head job at Forbush. Key lives close to Forbush, a 2A school in Yadkin County.
Key was honored as NPC Coach of the Year for 2012 and twice earned Statesville Record & Landmark Coach of the Year honors.
North Iredell was winless in 2010. Key, a Davie County grad, nearly led North Iredell to the playoffs in 2012 for the first time in 25 years.
Assistant coach Nick Tomlin, who also is the AD, will replace Key. North Iredell expects eight starters to return for the 2013 season.
