19-year-old arrested after police search home

SALISBURY — Police charged a 19-year-old with firing a handgun inside the city limits Saturday night.
According to a Salisbury Police report, authorities arrested Dashon McDaniel of Barber Street following a search of the home about 11:45 p.m.
Police said they responded to a “shots fired” call at the home and ask McDaniel if they could search the Barber Street residence.
Officers said they were given consent and began searching the home.
After finding several spent .380-caliber shells, two empty gun cases and drug paraphernalia, the report said, officers were asked to stop by the homeowners.
Authorities secured the home and obtained a search warrant.
They re-entered the home and found a 9 mm Ruger handgun with a magazine in it, the report said.
Authorities also found a marijuana grinder and burnt marijuana cigarettes.
McDaniel was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
