Woman faces felony after being accused of stealing items from sister
A 22-year-old Salisbury woman ended up behind bars Saturday after being accused of stealing clothes, towels, candles and toiletries from her sister’s residence.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Madison Lynne Clay of Jess Safrit Road with felony breaking and entering after her sister, Lindsay Clay, reported she had broken into her Hampton Road house Friday. Lindsay told police her sister had been living with her, but she asked her to move out because she wasn’t paying rent.
She had packed up Madison’s belongings in plastic containers and left them underneath the carport for her to pick up, Sifford said.
But Madison ended up picking up more than her stuff, according to reports. She told Lindsay that she had taken the items. Madison was placed in jail before posting a $300 bail.
