Storms could cause flooding in Rowan

The National Weather Service says Rowan County could see flooding from storms today through Friday.
The service forecasts showers and thunderstorms each day with very heavy rainfall at times.
A cold front that moved into the region on the heels of a sweltering heat wave is, for now, stationary and producing the storms, which the weather service says can also spawn hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.
Thursday’s high temperature will be near 80 and Friday’s high in the low 80s. Lows will be in the upper 60s.
The front is expected to move out of the area late Friday, with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
