The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close part of Stokes Ferry Road beginning Tuesday, July 17, to replace a pipe crossing under the road between Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church and McCanless Golf Course in Salisbury.
The work will take place during daytime hours and is expected to be complete by July 20, weather permitting. Motorists can avoid the area by taking the following signed detour routes:
• Traveling East: Turn left on Earnhardt Road, turn right on Bringle Ferry Road, turn right on Dunns Mountain Road and return to Stokes Ferry Road; and
• Traveling West: Turn right on Dunns Mountain Road, turn left on Bringle Ferry Road, turn left on Earnhardt Road and return to Stokes Ferry Road.
NCDOT reminds motorists traveling around the work zone to stay alert, obey the posted speed limit and allow extra time to reach their destinations. NCDOT will have signs in place to help guide motorists along the detour routes.
