MOORESVILLE — A 22-year-old man remains in critical condition after a pool accident Saturday morning.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, Richard VanCamp, of Dawson Downs Lane off of Unity Church Road, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast from the Atwell Fire Department about 5:30 a.m.
Authorities said VanCamp was injured when he jumped into the home’s pool.
Deputies said alcohol was believed to be a factor in the incident.
A hospital spokeswoman said VanCamp was listed in critical condition this morning.
