SALISBURY — A woman who claimed she was assaulted by a Rowan County Detention Center officer has withdrawn her complaint.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Nancy Roach filed a complaint last month saying she was hit in the right eye and injured her left arm when she fell to the ground.
Roach withdrew her complaint Friday, Capt. John Sifford said.
Roach and friend Ronald “Rodney” Link demanded an investigation after both claimed they were assaulted in separate incidences May 19.
Link told Post last month he was struck the in the face while in a restraint chair in a Rowan County Detention Center isolation room.
He was charged with felony malicious conduct after the officer said Link spit at him.
Roach initially claimed she as in a padded room and was struck as she tried to get up off the floor. She was jailed on a driving while impaired charge.
Roach told the Post last month she didn’t see the alleged attacker.
A phone call to Roach’s home was not immediately returned Monday morning.
