KANNAPOLIS — Police caught a Kannapolis man wanted in a number of break-ins in the Enochville area Friday.
A second man, who was a passenger in the vehicle used in the break-ins, escaped on foot during a traffic stop on West A Street, according to an arrest report. Authorities believe the passenger was Desmond Cruse, also wanted in connection with the break-ins.
The driver, 22-year-old Donterio Rashard Glaspy, was initially charged with resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer. Officers later discovered he and Cruse were both listed on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list.
Glaspy, of Harbour View Circle in Kannapolis, was charged with six counts of breaking and entering; six counts of felony larceny; one count of felony burglary; one count of misdemeanor breaking and entering; and two counts of misdemeanor failure to appear.
He was in jail Wednesday under a $100,000 bond.
The same charges are pending for Cruse, who was identified in March as a suspect in the break-ins.
Rowan detectives believe the two were responsible for a number of break-ins in the Enochville area, where televisions were being taken.
Investigators replaced Glaspy on the fugitive list with Arnold Joe Eberhart on Wednesday.
Eberhart, 47, of Umberger Road in Cleveland, is wanted for felony sex offender registration violation.
Anyone with information about suspects listed on the Most Wanted list are asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
