The N.C. Department of Transportation Division of Aviation has cancelled a public meeting scheduled for today in Mount Ulla to solicit comments on a proposal to build an antenna tower in western Rowan County.
Davidson County Broadcasting Company is seeking to build an antenna tower about12,700 feet north of Miller Air Park in Mooresville at a height of nearly 1,200 feet, and the Division of Aviation had been asked to give an opinion about the proposed project.
Richard Walls, NCDOT director of aviation, said Monday that the meeting was cancelled partly because the parties involved, including the radio company and tower opponent James Rollans, said they didn’t want to hold one. The project also is currently being challenged in court, Walls said.
