Brady recognized for Meritorius Service at retirement ceremony
Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Steven D. Brady has retired from active duty after 27 years of service.
He was previously an E-3 AWACS Operational Test & Evaluation Flight Engineer assigned to the NATO E-3A Component, Geilenkirchen Air Base, Germany. During his retirement ceremony, he was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for meritorious service from Sept. 6, 2006 to Dec. 31, 2012.
The son of Jerry Brady of Concord and Joan Everhart of Salisbury, he is married to the former Melissa Lee of Shelby. They have two daughters, Haley and Caitlyn.
His previous assignments include Myrtle Beach AFB, S.C.; Suwon AB, Korea; NAS Keflavik, Iceland; Langley AFB, Virginia; King Abdul Aziz AB, Saudi Arabia; Tinker AFB, Okla.; and two tours at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. He participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Northern Watch, Operation Southern Watch and ISAF Operations in Afghanistan.
SMSgt Brady joined the USAF in May 1984. He is a 1983 graduate of East Rowan Senior High and a 1995 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
He resides in Eagle River, Alaska, and is employed by Airglas Engineering, Inc in Anchorage.
Jacobs completes Air Force basic training
Air Force Airman Brice A. Jacobs IV graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
The son of Joyce Lindsay of Salisbury, he is a 2007 graduate of East Rowan High School, Salisbury and earned an associate degree in 2010 from DeVry University, Charlotte.
