SALISBURY — A Walmart shopper phoned police after she said she watched two men break into a car in the retailer’s parking lot and steal nearly $1,200 in electronics.
The two men took binoculars, a GPS unit and other electronics from a Chevrolet suburban and then placed the items in the trunk of a 1993 Buick LaSabre, the woman told officers.
One of the men changed his shirt in the car and both went into the store at 323 S. Arlington St.
Salisbury Police notified the store’s loss prevention department and both were arrested as they left the store.
Officers charged 22-year-old Reco Darvonte Hailey and 21-year-old Deshune Orlandas Liles with felony breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny.
They were both in jail Monday under $5,000 bonds.
