SALISBURY — A China Grove woman called a witness in her upcoming court appearance and threatened her on four separate days, authorities said.
Gabrielle Adams, of 2nd Street, was arrested at her home and charged with four counts of intimidating a witness.
Deputies said Romona Randall was set to testify against Adams in an upcoming assault and damage to property case, but Adams had other plans.
“Each phone call threatened Randall with bodily harm and her family if she showed up in court,” the report said.
An arrest warrant showed Adams called on March 28 and 30, and April 1 and 3.
Randall recognized the woman’s voice and on April 4 went to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office to speak with deputies about the calls.
Adams was taken into custody about 4:30 a.m. this morning.
She was in jail under a $2,500 bond.
