Zachary Russell earns Eagle Scout

Zachary Harris Russell, 16, received his Eagle Scout Award on March 18, 2012, at Neel Road Baptist Church. He is the son of Linn Hayes and Cynthia Cashion Russell of Salisbury.
Greg Hager, Scoutmaster of Troop 476 sponsored by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, presented the award. Zack began his scouting career in 2001 as a Tiger Cub with Pack 476, continued in Cub Scouts and earned his Arrow of Light in 2007. He joined Boy Scout Troop 476 and followed the trail to his Eagle. He has earned 27 merit badges and serves as a Troop Guide.
Zack is a sophomore at West Rowan High School, is a member of the FFA and is on the Football and Baseball teams. He is a member of Neel Road Baptist Church and is active in the Youth Program.
For his Eagle Project, he designed a Prayer Garden for Neel Road Baptist Church that has a cross, benches, stepping stones and shrubs. The garden was dedicated to the church for their support in his Eagle Project.
