Honeycutt – Assey
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dean Honeycutt of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Lynn Honeycutt, to Charles Norman Assey II of West Columbia, S.C.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grover C. Miller Sr. of Gold Hill and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. Honeycutt of Salisbury. A 2000 graduate of North Rowan High School, Megan is a 2004 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies/English, where she was a full scholarship member of the basketball team. Megan obtained a master’s degree in Human Resource Development in 2007 from Clemson University while working as a Graduate Assistant for the Clemson Lady Tiger basketball program. She is now Director of Public Relations for Dorchester Schools District Four in St. George, S.C.
The future groom is the son of Angie and Stephen Sightler of West Columbia, S.C., and Charlie and Sharon Assey of Lexington, S.C. A 1999 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School, Charles is a 2004 graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies/Secondary Education, where he was also a member of the baseball team. He obtained a Master degree in Sports Management from St. Edwards University, Austin, Tex., in 2006 while working as a Graduate Assistant for the baseball program. He is currently a social studies teacher and head baseball coach at Woodland High School in Dorchester, S.C.
The couple will marry June 23 at Old North State Club in New London.
