SALISBURY — Novant Health, which owns Rowan Regional Medical Center, has outsourced its medical transcription division.
Sixty-nine employees will lose their jobs Saturday. Four live in Salisbury, according to Novant.
The employees, who work at home, transcribe medical records for health-care providers throughout the Novant system, including Rowan Regional. The company has outsourced the division to Atlanta-based Transcend, which offered jobs to all displaced workers.
The employees had four days to decide.
Most took the offer but will earn about half of what they were making with Novant, several employees told the Post.
