Meeting on coyotes March 28

Published 12:00 am Thursday, March 8, 2012

Cooperative Extension in Rowan County is sponsoring a workshop/informational meeting on coyotes, Wednesday, March 28, 7 p.m., at the Agriculture Center on Old Concord Road in Salisbury.
Coyotes, once regarded as a rare occurrence, are now becoming prevalent in Rowan and surrounding counties. Not only are livestock considered at prime risk, but the influx of coyotes into urban areas poses a risk for small animals and pets.
Dr. Jonathan Shaw, wildlife biologist with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, will provide information on coyotes and other animal problems. Please contact Cooperative Extension at 704-216-8970 or e-mail darrell_blackwelder@ncsu.edu to register or for more information by March 26. Seating for this event is limited.
