Once a month, some employees from the Home Depot in Kannapolis take their time to visit and have a woodworking shop time with the residents of the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury. Mike Radtke has been organizing the events. They enjoy making items like keepsake boxes or maybe jewelry chests. These men still enjoy crafting wood with their hands plus conversations of times past of projects completed. It touches their emotional memory, which is evident in the smiles on their faces.
