Man attempts to buy gas with fake $1 bills
A man attempted to pass off fake $1 bills to a gas station clerk last month, authorities said.
On Tuesday, deputies released footage from a surveillance camera at a Rushco station on Long Ferry Road near Interstate 85.
The suspect attempted to buy gas with the counterfeit bills, authorities said, but when the clerk realized they were fake, the man left them on the counter and drove away in a black Dodge Neon.
Deputies described the man as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s with a slight goatee.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Adam Loflin at 704-216-8686, or Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687.
