SALISBURY — A Salisbury man was charged Saturday with assault after breaking into a home that belonged to a woman with whom he had a relationship.
Salisbury Police charged Wayne Allan Davis, 44, of 905 Richard St., with first-degree trespass, first-degree burglary, assault with a deadly weapon minor present and larceny after breaking and entering.
According to an arrest warrant, Davis is accused of assaulting Fatina Gibson, a person whom he had a “personal relationship,” with a semi-automatic handgun.
He displayed the gun, loaded it and chased her out of her Kessler Street home while her 6-year-old daughter was present, the report said.
Davis is also accused of breaking into Gibson’s home between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., taking a 46-inch flat screen television with him.
The incidents occurred Jan. 21.
He has previously been convicted of breaking and entering as a 16-year-old, drug possession, resisting arrest and criminal contempt, according to the N.C. Department of Correction.
Davis remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $70,000 bond.
