Kannapolis man under $100,00 bond on drug, weapons charges

KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis man is behind bars on a $100,000 bond after a search of his house yielded marijuana, drug paraphernalia and firearms.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and Special Response Team executed a search warrant today at 317 Northdale Ave. in the Enochville community after receiving complaints that the residents were involved selling drugs. Kannapolis Police assisted with the search.
Police seized 5 ounces of marijuana that had been packaged for sale, assorted items of drug paraphernalia, such as scales and plastic bags, as well as three firearms.
Investigators discovered the serial number had been removed from the rifles.
Michael Allen McLain Jr., 33, has been charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep, store and sell controlled substances, felony possession of firearm by felon, felony possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
