Ashburn Anniversary

Ronnie Wayne Ashburn and Brenda Peacock Ashburn of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 12, 2012, by renewing their wedding vows during the worship service at First United Church of Christ in Salisbury. It was followed by a surprise covered-dish luncheon at the church. The Ashburns were married Feb. 11, 1962, at South China Grove Methodist Church by the Rev. Ervin Cook.
Both retired, Ronnie worked 19 years at Food Lion and 21 years at National Starch, and Brenda worked in the Surgery Department at Rowan Regional Medical Center for 38 years.
The couple have two children, Tracy Ashburn Parrish of Rockwell and Darren Wayne Ashburn of Woodleaf. They also have four grandchildren, Wesley and Brittany Parrish and Aaron and Jarret Ashburn.
The Ashburns will continue their celebration on an 8-day cruise with family in June.
