Sorority offers free HIV screening

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. Lambda Epsilon Sigma Chapter, along with Carolina Care Partnership and Rowan Care Alliance, are partnering to bring “Know Your Status: GET TESTED.” The organizations invites members of the community to a free HIV testing on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Rowan Helping Ministries, 226 N. Long St..
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. is the only African American sorority to be named a partner of the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention Act Against AIDS Leadership Initiative (AAALI) and has been awarded more than $200,000 in funding to focus on educating communities hardest hit by HIV.
A34Life is the HIV/AIDS Awareness Initiative of Sigma Gamma Rho. The A34Life: Ask. Accept. Act. initiative is a call for education, personal responsibility and action.
