Witt pottery reception is Friday at Pottery 101

The opening reception for “All Dressed Up,” a show featuring the pottery of Verna Witt, will be held on Friday, Feb. 10 from 6-9 p.m. at Pottery 101. The show will run from Feb. 10 until March 9.
Verna Witt has a background in art and wood sculpture, basket making and textile design. Witt is currently an active potter, a member of ClayMatters Pottery Guild and a docent at the Mint Museum. Influences from her career as a textile designer can be seen in her current work. Whether she is incorporating materials such
as beads and pine needles or “dressing up” a
vase with buttons and zippers, she creates pieces that use both form and texture to challenge the senses.
Pottery 101 is located at 101 S. Main St., 704-209-1632, www.pottery-101.com
