SALISBURY — A fugitive from Virginia was arrested Sunday after police said she was caught taking packaged meat from a Food Lion store.
Officers said Terri Lane Green, 908 W. Horah St., was stopped in the parking lot at 251 Faith Road. A store employee stopped an officer in the parking lot and told him the woman had been seen placing food in her purse.
Police said they found more than $100 in meats and toiletry items in Green’s purse.
She was charged with misdemeanor larceny and a previous larceny charge from January.
After taking the 37-year-old to the department, officers realized Green was wanted on a probation violation in Virginia.
She was charged with felony fugitive from justice and given a $10,000 bond.
