Congrave Epting Wedding

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. — Meredith Dorris Congrave of Smyrna and James Edward “Jim” Epting Jr. of Alpharetta were united in marriage Oct. 1, 2011, at The Sunken Garden at Crane Cottage. The Rev. James Kenney officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception hosted by the bride and groom at Cherokee Cottage.
The couple entered the ceremony together preceded by their attendants who were daughter of the groom Eryn Elizabeth Epting, son of the bride William Maxwell Congrave and daughter of the bride Avery Louise Congrave.
The bride is the daughter of Andrew Michael and Mary Riley Dorris of Conroe, Tex. A 1990 graduate of Conroe High School, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1997. Meredith is a Level (3) Communications Account Manager for Wholesale Markets.
The groom is the son of Hazel Fisher and James Edward Epting Sr. of Salisbury. A 1986 graduate of Salisbury High School, he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 1990. Jim is Senior Vice President for Burns & Wilcox, International Insurance Brokers and Underwriting Managers.
The couple took a wedding trip to St. Lucia during November.
Other weekend festivities hosted by the couple were a Low Country Shrimp Boil on the croquet lawn at Jekyll Hotel Friday, Sept. 30 and a Brunch Sunday morning at Cherokee Cottage. On Saturday, guests enjoyed golf, shopping and touring historic sites.
The couple are residing in Vinings, Ga.
