Kannapolis man charged in Charlotte murder
CHARLOTTE (AP) — A Kannapolis man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of another man at a motorcycle club meeting in Charlotte.
Police said 47-year-ood Jamie Reney Knox was being held Monday. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
Investigators say 40-year-old Chaple Bernard Waymyers of Charlotte was at a meeting Sunday afternoon of the Outcast Motorcycle Club when a man walked in and shot the victim.
Police have not released a motive. Capt. Nick Pellicone said he isn’t sure whether the shooting involved a dispute between gangs but he says the shooting was not a random act.
