WASHINGTON, D.C. ó Doctors at George Washington University Hospital say U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-N.C.) is making steady improvement as he recovers from an upper respiratory illness, which has depleted his sodium levels, the 6th District representativeís office announced Friday.
Physicians expected to move Coble from the intensive care unit to a regular hospital room either Friday night or this morning.
George Washington University Hospital physicians say Cobleís sodium levels are slowly but steadily improving, and as soon as they return to normal levels, they expect to discharge the 80-year-old representative.
Since the House may be back in session as soon as Monday, Coble may remain in Washington for any possible votes after being released from the hospital, his office said in a statement.
