Some gave in honor of the men and women serving in our armed forces. Some gave to honor children theyíd taught in Sunday school over the decades, or co-workers, or loyal customers.
Some gave in memory of loved ones with whom theyíd shared Christmases past and friends with whom theyíd shared bridge nights.
All gave so that children who might otherwise go without would have gifts to open.
The Christmas Happiness Fund helps Rowan County families in need buy gifts for their children. Itís sponsored by the Salisbury Post, which collects contributions. The Rowan County Department of Social Services distributes the funds.
Bring contributions to the Salisbury Post, 131 W. Innes St., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or mail them to The Salisbury Post, Christmas Happiness Fund, P.O. Box 4639, Salisbury, NC 28145-4639.
Make checks payable to the Christmas Happiness Fund and indicate how you wish your donation listed.
